Training in Soul Centred Psychotherapy

For people wanting to develop as therapists and healers.
Three year part time training program commencing July 20th 2017 and February 8th 2018.
In a world of brief therapy and quick fixes, Soul Centred Psychotherapy offers a unique, in-depth training, that holds to the experience of being human in all its complexity.

Stage one. The mythic way.
This course runs over 18 months and is designed to provide the personal orientation and practical skills necessary for developing as a therapist, counsellor and healer. It focuses on ways of attending to personal experience that develop the internal ground, resources and capacities that allow us to attend to others.
Our understanding is that the basic ground of being human is also the basic ground of being a psychotherapist and is fundamental to training and development in this area. We propose that it is our responsibility as therapists to develop conscious living relationship with our own inner world as well as learning ways to be present with the other person. The training program is specifically designed to develop this capacity.

Stage two. Developing as a therapist.
The next stage of the course comprises a series of modules offered over eighteen months (6 terms). The work from The Mythic Way program stage one forms the basis for ongoing study and practice of therapeutic interventions and will include the modules below:

Energy psychology(Tapping, BLSP, Chakra,Trance)
Body-centred psychotherapies
Jungian psychotherapy
Humanistic psychology
Ericksonian hypnosis and psychotherapy

Training takes place in a group setting with an emphasis on experiential work. Each skill is extensively workshopped. Graduates of stage two of the course qualify for a certificate of Soul Centred Psychotherapy which becomes fully endorsed upon completion of 200 hours of supervised practice. Clinical membership of the ASCP (Association of Soul Centred Psychotherapists Inc.) requires a further 750 hours of supervised practice. The Association of Soul Centred Psychotherapists is a constituent member of PACFA. Fully qualified members are eligible to be listed on the PACFA register.

Supervision is offered in small groups (up to 5 participants) or individually, and provides a forum for continuing education, discussion and professional support. Ongoing supervision is considered an integral part of developing as a therapist.
